2 Principles for Biblical Hermeneutics that should be applied when reading and studying the Bible.

  1. The Analogy of Faith -Scripture interprets scripture. No part of scripture can be interpreted in such a way as to render it in conflict with something taught elsewhere in scripture.
  2. Read it within the context it was written. The Bible uses metaphor, hyperbole and poetry and other literary devices to covey messages. Putting passages, chapters, verses and whole books into context helps discover these devices.
