4 Facts about the Gospel of John:
- Gospel of John is different than Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The Gospel of John omits the Temptations of Christ, the Transfiguration, and the institution of the “Lord’s Supper”. There is no casting out of demons talked about in John, no Sermon on the Mount, nor the Lord’s Prayer.
- The greatest miracle of Jesus is only mentioned in the Gospel of John.
- The Apostle John the brother of James is not the writer of this Gospel.
- Some scholars consider the work anonymous.
- The writer was most certainly a Jew, but not John the Fisher man
- There will be a side quest, if you choose, to uncover who possibly was the writer of the 4th Gospel
- The verb “believe” is all throughout the book of John, 98 times, but the word faith is never used.
